What is BEYOND YOUR DOORSTEP ? A fun nature show for kids 6-12 years old.  Host Peter Schriemer is a 19-year-old naturalist who truly believes that critters are cool.  In each 30-minute episode, Peter explores the view that all creatures are special and have a purpose... even bugs!

Peter has always loved science and nature and grew up watching wildlife programs on TV. They had so much fun that Peter decided to create a hands-on nature show - and Beyond Your Doorstep was born! Between the completion of the first episode on
“North Woods Habitats,” and videos Peter produced for the web site, Beyond Your Doorstep has received the NRB’s People’s Choice Award, the
Dove Foundation’s Family Seal of Approval, and 5 Telly Awards. Through high quality educational programming, Beyond Your Doorstep inspires children to explore, learn, and share their experience with friends and family, so that many people will discover the joys of going beyond their doorstep.

BEYOND YOUR DOORSTEP focuses on particular habitats/ecosystems and the animals, big and small, that live within it.
This teaching style gives a broader picture of how the natural world works together.
Peter will show you where to look, how to observe, and how to catch and keep different critters in each episode.  You'll learn very cool facts about each animal and you'll want to go outside looking for creatures and to explore your natural surroundings.

[Peter]Peter’s Bio: Peter Schriemer is a nationally award winning filmmaker and popular wildlife educator. Peter has been producing videos since age 13, and received his degree in Film and Video Studies at the University ofMichigan in 2005. Peter has been pursuing his passion for wildlife ever since he could crawl, and has taught classes and given presentations at public and private schools, science camps, and the Detroit Zoo. Peter has been part of the “Friends of Wildlife” program to rescue baby animals, has studied wildlife in the Rainforests of Costa Rica, and has participated in the Turtle Research Project at the E. S. George Reserve in Michigan.
